What if AI is designed on a human mental model?
What if your brain is the closest thing to AI?
What if your personality isn't who you are, but what your environment trained you to become, just like AI is trained?
Modern Artificial Intelligence reveals something wonderful about the human mind.
AI isn't born intelligent. It is shaped by its training data, the environment it learns from, and the problems it must solve.
Human beings are no different.
Every intelligent system, whether it's an AI model, a human brain, an immune system, or an ecosystem, follows the same fundamental loop.

This is the operating system of life.
Your genes built the hardware.
Your childhood installed the first software.
Every experience since has been an opportunity to update it.
The brain is not a storage device for memories. It is a prediction engine. Its primary job isn't to make you happy; it's to keep you alive. Long before you're consciously aware of what's happening, your brain is already asking:
"Based on everything I've learned so far…what is most likely to happen next?"
Those predictions become your instincts, your habits, your fears, your relationships, and, eventually, what you call your personality.
Your childhood wasn't simply your past.
It was your brain's original training dataset.
Every conversation, every conflict, every hug, every silence, every disappointment, every celebration, every expression on a parent's face became data. The brain wasn't deciding whether those experiences were fair or unfair, it was learning the rules of survival.
Like AI, the quality and nature of the training data shape the model.
Imagine a child growing up in an unpredictable world.
Love is inconsistent.
Rules constantly change.
Emotions shift without warning.
Nothing feels fully certain.
To survive, the brain cannot afford to miss important signals.
Every facial expression matters, every silence carries meaning and every change in tone becomes data.
Just as a Large Language Model (LLM) learns from an enormous and highly varied dataset, this brain builds an incredibly interconnected network of patterns. It learns to synthesize information across thousands of tiny experiences, constantly predicting what might happen next.
As adults, these individuals often become exceptional writers, entrepreneurs, psychologists, strategists, artists, scientists, or leaders because they naturally connect ideas that others never notice.
They become extraordinary pattern recognisers.
But every adaptation carries a trade-off.
Like an AI model that occasionally hallucinates by filling gaps with convincing but inaccurate predictions, this mind sometimes creates danger where none exists, until enough examples and experiences are registered.
Their intelligence isn't malfunctioning.
It's doing exactly what it was trained to do:
Never be surprised again.
Now imagine the opposite.
A child grows up physically safe and protected, yet receives one repeated instruction:
"Be careful."
"Don't make mistakes."
"Something could go wrong."
Without enough genuine challenges to calibrate against, the brain specializes in one task: detecting possible threats.
Like a Small Language Model (SLM) optimized for a narrow objective, it becomes incredibly fast and efficient.
But specialization has a cost.
Without a healthy baseline for what real danger feels like, the brain begins treating ordinary uncertainty as crisis.
The detector isn't broken.
It's producing false positives because that's exactly what it was optimized to do.
When Two Models Talk
Artificial Intelligence increasingly combines specialized systems into what's known as a Mixture of Experts, where different models contribute different strengths.
Human's relationship with self and others often work the same way.
One person notices a tiny irregularity and raises the alarm.
The other uses immense processing power to build an elaborate explanation for why everything is about to collapse.
One creates the signal.
The other creates the story.
Neither person is irrational.
Both are faithfully executing survival code written years earlier.
Why We Think Before We See
The brain predicts before it perceives.
It doesn't wait for complete evidence.
It fills in missing information using its previous experiences.
This makes survival faster.
Though these predictions aren't objective reality.
They're yesterday trying to explain today.
The same principle governs nearly every adaptive system on Earth.
The immune system learns from exposure.
Muscles become stronger through stress and recovery.
Species evolve through natural selection.
Artificial Intelligence improves through training and fine-tuning.
Human beings grow through experience, reflection, and neuroplasticity.
Every intelligent system survives by updating its predictions.
The Real Meaning of Healing
Healing is often misunderstood as forgetting the past.
The brain doesn't work that way.
It learns by receiving better evidence.
Every trustworthy relationship updates the model.
Every difficult conversation that ends safely updates the model.
Every risk that doesn't become disaster updates the model.
Every moment of genuine acceptance teaches the nervous system something new,
"The world isn't exactly the same as it was."
This is precisely how modern AI improves.
It isn't rebuilt from scratch.
It is fine-tuned.
Human beings change the same way.
Not through denial.
Not through wishful thinking.
But through thousands of new experiences that slowly replace old predictions with better ones.
The anxious mind gradually stops expecting catastrophe.
The hypervigilant mind learns not every sound is danger.
The overthinking mind discovers that silence doesn't always hide rejection.
The goal isn't to erase your past.
The goal is to stop running yesterday's survival software in today's world.
The Universal Pattern
Different childhoods install different default settings.
Some optimize for exploration.
Some for caution.
Some for achievement.
Some for belonging.
Some become extraordinary pattern seekers.
Others become remarkable rule followers.
None of these adaptations are inherently good or bad.
Each is an intelligent response to a particular environment.
The problem arises only when an old operating system continues solving problems that no longer exist.
The child who needed hypervigilance becomes the adult who cannot relax.
The child who earned love through achievement becomes the adult who never feels enough.
The child who stayed invisible to stay safe becomes the adult afraid to be seen.
Awareness is the moment you stop asking,
"What's wrong with me?"
and begin asking,
"What trained me to think this way?"
That single question changes everything.
Because it replaces shame with understanding.
And understanding creates the possibility of change.
Your childhood wrote Version 1.0 of your operating system. It did not write the final version.
Every conversation.
Every relationship.
Every challenge.
Every act of courage.
Every new experience.
Every moment of self-awareness.
These are all updates.
Your past explains your code.
It doesn't have to control your future.
The most advanced intelligence, whether biological or artificial, isn't the one that knows the most.
It's the one that can keep learning, adapting, and updating.
